RTI
Health Solutions is pleased to announce that Dr. Josephine Mauskopf will
be joining RTI-HS as Global Director of Health Economics later this month.
Dr. Mauskopf will strengthen our core research areas and help expand
our international capabilities in this newly created position. "I
am so excited that Jo has agreed to join our staff and take on these
new challenges," says Dr. Elizabeth Andrews, vice president of RTI-HS. "Jo
provides unparalleled scientific leadership in health economics. In addition,
she understands the business and research challenges facing our clients,
and the international context of health economics. RTI-HS is undergoing
some exciting changes and growth in 2003, and Jo will be a large contributor
to our success."
A long-standing member of RTI's research community, Dr. Mauskopf worked
in the Center for Economics Research from 1983-1992 and 1996-2000. In
2000, she spearheaded the development of RTI-HS, which was officially
launched as a new RTI business unit in May of 2001. She comes to us from
MEDTAP International, Inc., where she was a vice president and senior
research leader. Former positions also include department head of economics
research at Burroughs Wellcome Co. and director of pharmacoeconomics
research for anti-virals and anti-infectives at Glaxo Wellcome Inc.
Dr. Mauskopf is Editor in Chief of Value in Health, the journal
of the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research.
She is an adjunct Associate Professor in the University of North Carolina's
School of Public Health in Chapel Hill, and is a member of the Health
Care Technology and Decision Sciences Study Section at the Agency for
Healthcare Research and Quality.
