Steve Beard, MSc, Global Head of Heath Economic and European Operations, taught a Nowgen workshop on May 1st in Manchester UK. The title of the workshop was “Demonstrating the Value of Your Product Using Health Economics.” Steve’s portion of the workshop was titled “The Role of Health Economics within Health Technology Assessment” and his slides are available here.

Other presenters included Stephen Birch, Linda Davies, and Katherine Payne of Health Economics Research at Manchester (HERMAN); Keith Tolley of Mapi Values, and Meindert Boysen of National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).

Workshop topics included the value of health economics, understanding outcome measures in economic evaluation, NICE’s role, and demonstrating the value of health care products.
