Salomé de Cambra will be speaking at the European Pharmaceutical Pricing & Reimbursement Conference in Munich, Germany on October 28, 2008. Dr. de Cambra will review the significant aspects of drug pricing negotiations in Spain, including the role of the regions and the Health Technology agencies that are located there.
Spain is the 5th largest pharmaceutical market in the European Union and has faced a number of significant cost containment measures during the last 4 years. While the health care system is decentralized in 17 regions with managing and funding capacity, drug pricing and regulations are some of the few competencies which remain centralized.
Salomé de Cambra, MD, MBA, is a Senior Consultant for European Pricing and Reimbursement at RTI-HS in the Barcelona office. Dr. de Cambra holds a Medical Degree, specializing in public health and preventive medicine, and an MBA.
Her professional career started in the Public Health Department of the Government of Catalonia and continued in the pharmaceutical industry and health services consulting field. During the last five years she has focused on pricing negotiations and cost containment policies.
