Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Strategy

RTI-HS provides unbiased evidence-based HTAs and consulting services. We inform clients about the strength of clinical and economic evidence behind new health care technologies, compare the new health technology with existing or future innovations, and evaluate the economic impacts of technology adoption. Our deliverables serve as a resource for health care professionals, payers, hospitals, and employers concerned about making informed health care decisions. We provide these services for pharmaceuticals, biologics, medical devices, and diagnostics at all stages of development, from concept to commercialization.

We have experience with critical evaluation of recent HTAs and coverage decisions. Along with primary research, such secondary analyses can be critical to informed outcomes and evidence planning, as well as pricing and reimbursement strategy, particularly for products early in development. Information from HTA and coverage policy assessment can include the following:

  • Single or multimarket overview of public and commercial payer reimbursement positions
  • Limitations on coverage, including subpopulations, access restriction, payer management controls, and supporting rationale
  • Clinical endpoints and/or outcomes important to payers and key study design considerations
  • Economic outcomes important to payers and key economic study design considerations and accepted assumptions
  • Evidence gaps associated with other products
