Our Services

We provide scientifically rigorous research and consulting services to pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies. Our high standards equate to reliable results and quality work products, so you can make better drug development and commercialization decisions. Our research and consulting services include:

Expertise: Access to key thought leaders
The quality of your research is directly tied to the experience and expertise of the project teams conducting your studies. To ensure optimal quality, we have key thought leaders in each of our practice areas and maintain a highly skilled staff mix with over 75% of our technical staff holding master’s or doctorate degrees. Additionally, all of our scientists are published in their fields, many serve as peer-reviewers and editors for research journals, and several maintain university appointments at Duke University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Boston University, St. Louis University, University of Sheffield (UK) and Georgia Southern University.

Independent Non-Profit Status: Results you can trust
As an independent, non-profit organization, our primary objective is to provide the highest possible quality research and consulting services to ultimately benefit patients. Our researchers believe what they do matters and their commitment to science, impartiality, and professional reputation results in unbiased research that you can depend on to make better decisions.

Multinational and Multilingual: A global perspective
We are headquartered in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, US. We also maintain regional offices in Waltham, Massachusetts and Ann Arbor, Michigan, US and international offices in Manchester, UK; Ottawa, Canada; and Barcelona, Spain. We have extensive experience conducting studies in all of Western Europe and North America and employ staff who are fluent in over 9 languages. Our expanding international capabilities help accommodate the global reach of your research needs.

Staff Stability: The retention connection
Our low turnover rates are good for business and good for you. In our collaborative work environment, employees take ownership of their work and find their jobs socially important and professionally rewarding—key contributors to our high employee retention rate. Because we attract and retain top talent, when you choose us for your research and consulting needs, you can expect the same project leadership from inception to completion of your study, even on multi-year projects. Our repeat business is about eighty percent year of year, which we attribute, in part, to our staff retention rate and stability.

Professional Affiliations: Enhancing our professionalism and leadership
As officers and members, we maintain active affiliations with relevant professional associations, and we are corporate members of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE), International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), and International Society for Quality of Life Research (ISOQOL). We also have strong partnerships with our parent organization, RTI International, as well as collaborative relationships with the Schools of Public Health and Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC), the UNC Center for Education and Research in Therapeutics, Boston University, Harvard School of Public Health and Manchester University. These affiliations mean that our experts stay abreast of the latest trends and changes within the industry. Owing to their excellent reputations and professional associations in their respective fields, our experts are frequently called upon to participate on expert panels, advisory committees, and review boards, which means they often have proactive roles in guiding and shaping the industries we serve.

Drug Development and Commercialization Success: The bottom line
Together, our experience, expertise, non-profit status, international capabilities, stability, commitment to quality, and professionalism benefit you in a number of ways. Our consulting and research services can:

  • Help you better understand your market, drug’s value, or disease state
